The 30-Day Journal Challenge: Day Eight and Nine

Journal Prompt 8: On this day in 1867, Frank Lloyd Wright was born. Wright was a well-respected architect. He designed a number of famous homes. If you were able to design the house of your dreams, what would it look like?

Journal Prompt 9: If you could scream something at the top of your lungs right now, what would it be?

This one was really a challenge for me! I don't draw homes all that often and I'm really bad about keeping my lines straight and even (the front patio, for example...) I used some references and had several variations before I decided to use this one.

Here we have a li'l Mushroom home. I thought the idea was cute ever since I first saw the Smurfs cartoon when I was little.

The 9th prompt flowed out, I wanted to give the impression of the mirror in the compact reflecting the words unspoken. Like those scenes in comic books or movies where the lead character is watching themselves in the mirror and the mirror is showing their superhero form.

The 30-Day Journal Challenge: Prompt Six and Seven

Journal Prompt 6: What does summer feel like?  What does summer look like?  What does summer smell like?  What does summer sound like? And what does summer taste like?  Use all of your senses to describe this wonderful season.  Have fun!

Journal Prompt 7: What is happiness?  What defines your happiness?  What makes you happy?

I'm so happy with how this spread turned out! Both prompts really flowed once I started drawing and it gave me a chance to try drawing with my Journal pages at a different angle. My character at the bottom was supposed to look sunburned in my typical summer outfit but it would seem my camera didn't feel like showing all the different shades of pink, lavender and grey. Ah well.

Sadly I do feel that I didn't really use the 6th prompt as was intended, where I am summer is something we look forward to being over. Everything that sprouted in spring is now dead or dying and the earth is dry and cracked. But I admit that I do enjoy the cold treats being in season, which is the perfect way to cool off after working outside all day... My favorite ice cream is Rainbow Sherbert! Yum!

The 30-Day Journal Challenge: Day Three, Four and Five

Journal Prompt 3: Use your name as an Acrostic to tell us all a little bit about yourself. Get creative with this one.

Journal Prompt 4: Go outside, set up a little journaling area, and see where your mind takes you. Journal it.

Journal Prompt 5: What do you believe in?  A simple prompt that shares so much.

When I first started this page I was going to have an entire two-page spread to the third prompt. But then I decided I liked the idea of it being a little rainbow at the top of the page. It's hard to see what I wrote over the colors, so here it is:

Randomly
Hopeful
And
Extremely
Interested in
Imagining

The third and fourth prompt I ended up doing at the same time. Originally the I BELIEVE IN GOD page was intended to be sky blue with a pink pattern behind it but then I decided I wanted to see what green would look like as a background color. The End of the Beginning by David Phelps pretty much sums up the fifth prompt :3

I'm thrilled that I've managed to keep up for five whole days. It has been so fun and so inspiring to see what others are doing with the same prompts each day!

The 30-Day Journal Challenge: Day Two

Journal Prompt 2:  This is something that I do in all of my journals.  I love making tangible goals and I love writing out lists so this is always a perfect page for me.  Use this page to create 3-5 tangible goals for this journal challenge.

When I first started coloring this page, I started to think that maybe I had used too much rainbow. But it was fun figuring out what shades to use and I like coloring in general. So far it's been two days and I am completely enjoying this challenge... I hope I can keep up!

My cell phone camera doesn't take that good of a picture, the pink is actually not that shockingly bright.

The 30-Day Journal Challenge: Day One

Journal Prompt 1:  Create an introduction page.  This can be an introduction of yourself or of your journal.  This is kind of like the title page for your journal.

I think I may have gone a little overboard, but I was so excited that I couldn't help myself! On the first page I drew Miss Janel announcing the 30 Day Journal Challenge. I referenced the logo in the speech balloon from her blog. And on the corresponding page is me. Me, and the way I see myself as a character.

Yes, those are rainbow tails.
